We seem to be having a problem with the "comments" area. I've enabled it (several times, sigh) but it isn't showing up on our posts. Which means you all can't leave your comments for us, which we REALLY would like to read. Please be patient while we tinker with this function. I'm contacting Blogger about it.

The Poe Society of Baltimore takes pains to make sure that the "Poe Toaster" is left to make his tribute in private. There were some 50 people in the cemetary this year, observing from a distance. I suspect that members of the Poe Society collect up the cognac and roses. Incidentally, the three roses are supposed to be for Poe, his wife Virginia, and his mother.
