Also, I've heard that more educated people describe an event as if seen from a camera overhead whereas the less educated describe it as if their own eyes were the camera.Maria Hudginshttp://www.mariahudgins.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8056815460076050228.post-35260146416101666722009-08-12T14:40:04.208-04:002009-08-12T14:40:04.208-04:00Sandy, you have thrown my schedule so far off! And I hear "She can't write convincing male characters" about certain female authors. It would be fascinating to study the dialogue those writers put into their characters' mouths and determine whether simple word choices are throwing off the reader's perception of them. It was developed as tool to help make linguistics studies more manpower efficient. Everything it comes up with is based on decades of research by humans. :-)Sandra Parshallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17403144248962124138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8056815460076050228.post-73755888743271499542009-08-12T09:15:41.185-04:002009-08-12T09:15:41.185-04:00This subject has always been really interesting to...This subject has always been really interesting to me--I love reading about handwriting analysis and that type thing. Can you reverse it if, say, you want to write a ditzy female character or a hard-boiled PI, and request a vocabulary list or a paragraph template?

It also reminded me of Deborah Tannen's book,Sheila Connollyhttp://www.sheilaconnolly.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8056815460076050228.post-71173209927222442882009-08-12T05:33:55.220-04:002009-08-12T05:33:55.220-04:00thanks for informationthanks for informationhttp://nickysstories.blogspot.com/http://nickysstories.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.com
